This day we’ll be covering “A Wizard of Earthsea” by Ursula K. Le Guin, first published by Severo-Zapad in 1991.
This dust jacket of the Russian edition of the book was also illustrated by Denis Dmitrievich Gordeev, as well as the previous book presented in this section of the site (The Lord of the Rings).
At that time this image captured the feel of the book really nicely — sort of dreamlike, a bit mythical, wide and colorful at the same time with alone hero casting the spell or a word of True Speech.
“Волшебник Земноморья. В трёх частях” on the original dust jacket. “Урсула Ле Гуин” on the spine.
